Having always been attracted to nature’s creatures and wild plants of all kinds, they are a frequent subject for my paintings. There are many birds here, including chickadees, nuthatch, robin, cardinal and osprey. My husband’s hands hold a trout he just caught in the Farmington River. My cat is napping in the sun. A friend’s dog portrait, and jungle frog are also here. The colors and shapes of the autumn are wonderful subjects as shown in the “Sumac Splendor” and “Fall Leaves” paintings. A memory from Alaska: Dall's sheep with Denali in the distance. Iridescent Moonjellies floating in the blue sea. And a butterfly sipping nectar from flowers. I wonder what will capture my imagination next.
